Women Protection Unit

This project is aimed to setup a centralized service center for women and girls survivors of violence where they can access all services as per identified needs during their triumph for justice. The service center or Women Protection Unit (WPU) will be linked with Sindh Government’s Women’s Development Department’s Complaint Cells and other stakeholders and service providers through Madadgaar’s referral network. This will operate as such a unit of Madadgaar National Helpline 1098 utilizing its toll free (from landline and mobile) nationally recognized number this will support in sustainability, recognition and outreach of WPU

The WPUs established under this project will provide protection, support and legal aid to women in distress while deriving adequate solutions for individual cases to their satisfaction & needs. The cases will be further followed up to ensure justice for the victims/survivors by ascertaining the outcome and developments through the network of LHRLA’s referral partners.

This project further aims to examine the nature and extent of violence against women cases in context of the justice sector. Madadgaar Helpline’s data will be analyzed to identify trends, needs and recommendations to inform masses advocate with media and legislators.
